Purple-blue light shifted its hues to oranges and reds, a cacophony of flames dancing across the sky, serenaded by the yellow-ish hues of sunlight that filtered through the clouds. Morning was here, and this little pony was ready for the adventure that would come with it - more attention, more curiosities, more new findings in this brand new space that was so colourful it was perfect. A little wooden fence - barely taller than the twelve-hand pony - lined the green paddock around her, wildflowers that grew up to her chest surrounding her on all sides as she trotted through her herd to reach the other side.

Recently, a lot of the two-legged people had been visiting her and her friends - and it really was a lot of them - and that was great, because some of them snook in treats and they all brought pretty things to put in her hair, but at the same time, it limited her time a lot. She couldn't just leave all of these nice people with their nice jingling thing-a-majigs, but the wilderness was right there! A vast depth of pine forest with little squirrels that taunted her just out of reach, the other side of that same little wooden fence.

It would be pretty easy to sneak through. Maybe jump over it, though Confession usually prided herself in her grave and elegance, and jumping something like this was.. almost definitely going to end up in her making a thud on the other side as she caught her hoof and fell. But how else could she get out? The forest was right there! It had even prettier wildflowers than the ones in the paddock, and she'd lived in wilderness all of her life - she may be pretty, and she may heavily appreciate the little ribbons the small ones (and some big ones) brought for her, but if they thought they could contain this little mare, they were wrong!

Confession gingerly nuzzled the fence with her nose, sniffing and snorting at the wood and pushing on it gently. Apparently, the visitors wouldn't like it if she made a hole in the fence, so she sighed and resorted to shoving her nose underneath the lowest plank holding her in and nuzzled that one - if she could just wiggle her way under and roll a little to the side, she could get through there for sure, right? She's not that big at all.

So there was the plan: no more elegant than crashing into the ground, but at least if Confession ended up getting muddy because she purposefully put herself in the mud, then it would definitely be more likely to be ignored. Ponies get muddy all the time, that's part of the fun of the fields that farmers welcome them into. Some farmers even have other animals in there, like the little white woolly ones that share grass with her sometimes. They were cute, she likes them ones. There were other big ones sometimes that startled her - not the same type of creature, but a fun one nonetheless.

No— no! Focus, Confession, focus. Wiggle under the fence, explore the wilderness! That's your calling! No more musical bells, you've already got some of them. What you haven't got is the time to look at all of this before the people come back if youre just standing awkwardly and daydreaming about woolly creatures and the possibilities of what's out there. Now's the time: Confession dropped to her stripy lavender knees and shuffled her head under the fence, rolling over to the other side and narrowly scraping her hooves along the smooth wood to push herself across. Aha! Freedom!

The bells in her mane made a musical twinkling noise as she stood up and shook herself, clearing off the petals that sat alongside her back. She felt a subtle itch on her spine so she twisted around to look at it, before noticing a delicate white daisy sat neatly atop her long fur (providing a lovely warmth for the disappearing winter days). She snorted at it and it flew off of her, landing neatly on a bush that sat beside her with little red berries attached to the branches. Confession knew better than to try and eat the berries - she'd gotten a little tummy-ache from some before - but they were always pretty with the morning dew sparkling on them. Sometimes, she'd watch birds snatch them when they were attached to twigs to be able to feed their companions and even build their home from them. Birds were cool; Confession likes them. She think's it'd be cool to fly.

She trotted through the forest for a short while, the grass shorter here compared to the wildflower field she and her friends had been living in. Trees were so tall in this forest, their firs scratching her muzzle when Confession tried to nuzzle them. It tickled, and she couldn't help but snort at them briefly until hopping off towards a lake in the distance. She was fascinated to see that it came out of a cave mouth, but that looked pretty dark, and the dark housed spooky mysteries - maybe she could just..

'Little lady, what are you doing out here, hm?' She spun around to stare at a human that was leaning against one of the spiky trees, one of those lovely little bells in his hand. The ribbon it was connected to was one super dark, which was cool because most of the people who gave her bells put them on super bright (and sometimes sparkly) ribbons, but this one suited the person. He had super dark hair and eyes, and even his outfit matched. She could appreciate the colour-coordination, she liked it - that's why she often asked her friends to put yellow flowers in her hair, they match her eyes.

'I wonder how you got out then, huh. Well, now or never. Do you mind if I put this in your hair, little lady? I think it could suit you quite well.'
