|In the midst of the dark evening, stood a few hand tall Stallion among his loving herd. It had begun to turn into a tradition with the two legs, where they’d come mid-day and attempt to bond with a horse in-order to bring it home. Being wise enough to know this time were no different, and these humans did not freight him, he lifted his head from his grazing spot in the wet grass to look over at the man before him. Tall, lean, with eyes that looked as if they were one moment off from drifting off into an involuntary sleep, was Copper. He tugged out a halter and bag of treats from the messy trunk-bed of his red pickup truck with a small yawn. For he had traveled hours from home simply to get his hands on a feral to call his own. Turning around to face his admirer from afar. “Hey there buddy” he called tiredly, his tone reflecting the soft dent of his freckled cheeks. Copper flung the green halter over the shoulder of his black leather jacket, and made his way to the steed across the field. Once close, he knelt down and clicked repeatedly in an soft tone. “C’mere you, come get some treats” he muttered out. The stallion only snorted, as if it were incapable of picking which side to stay on. Copper tossed a small amount of treats to the grass afar from him, watching the teddy curiously. It took what felt like forever to get the stallion to look back, or even glance his way — almost as the animal had deemed him unworthy of its trust — The stallion finally took a final look back at the herd with a cunning glint in his eyes, then trotted over to where Copper sat against the tree. “Changed your mind have you?” Copper chuckled, looking up at the horse. Crème locked his eyes on Coppers sandwich that had been revealed moments earlier, and snatched it with a hurried gallop away. “Hey!” Copper yelped in an baffled tone. He hurriedly rose to his feet, stumbling around for a moment before chasing the stallion in-front of him. “Get back here!”|
