Flint lights the Thunder cracker

Thunder cracker is a wild little pony, enjoying live in the mountains. The yearly event the people held had just went on, so he had a little bell in his tail. It jiggled as he walked around, it was quite fun. He shook his tail, prancing around and showing it off. He enjoyed watching the people, running around trying to mark their own pony. It was cute, especially when they brought their own ponies. Earlier Thunder cracker had met one of those ponies earlier, he was a bit mean. He didn’t even fully remember his name… Flick? Flance? Oh! Flint! He thought back to their interaction…. He was weird.

[OoOooooooOoOoo fun flashback]

The ponies had been pushed down the mountain, their yearly routine. Thunder cracker was a stray, having been able to run out of the direction of the rest of the ponies. He’d found a little refuge with a small pond, though he was unaware a cutting horse had seen him, chasing him down with rider in toe.

Thunder cracker sipped from the pond when he heard the other pony‘s hooves beat towards him. His fluffy ears alerted, he didn’t flee, like most ponies would. He stood, waiting for the other horse.

„Hey!“ His tone has cut through the air as he skid into the clearing, his face contorted in annoyance.

„Yeah?“ Thunder cracker replied, moving forward slightly, just in his positioning. He could tell off the bat that this horse wasn’t a fan of him, and he would likely feel the same. His tone was harsh, his stance was aggressive.

„You’re supposed to be over in the herd! So let’s move!“ He commanded, pawing at the ground.

„But that’s not as fun!“ The gelding laughed, moving towards the stallion who was trying to Intimidate him. The other horse puffed, snorting at him.

„Get back over there!“ He barked, making the other horse puff back.

„Uncalled for…“ He mumbled softly, the rider on the back of the stallion seemed to be more passive, a rope on his hip, ready for when it was needed.

The other horse pawed at the ground still, it saddened Thunder cracker, he wasn’t used to being so disliked.

„Okay… okay. I Get the point…“ The gelding said softly, hanging his head and moving towards the herd.

„Good.“ The stallion said, following behind him. The gelding was dejected, he really wasn’t used to being disliked! What did this stallion get from this, anyway? Enjoyment? Pride? Maybe he could inquire… at least on his name. There’s no way he shouldn’t at least know his name.

The stallion was making him move fast, in a quick trot. „What’s your name?“ Thunder cracker called back, not really expecting the stallion to answer.

„Flint. Now shut up, we have to hurry there or we won’t make the round up.“ Flint replied, the gelding understood he had an objective, he was a work horse, he probably cut cows too. This was his purposed and objective, he guessed… and Thunder cracker was kinda okay with that. His life was just sitting around, playing with the other ponies, but this horse enjoyed cutting animals, he couldn’t be mad. So he didn’t ask anymore questions, he just continued to run infront of flint.

It took probably twenty minutes for them to catch up, Thunder cracker melting back into his herd. Now it was time for the bells, gaining a ponies trust to bell them. Most of them were young kids, and there was one kid that stuck out to Thunder Cracker. She had gone up to flint and his rider, greeting them. Thunder cracker, admittedly, was fond of Flint. He was different, but he thought that was fun! So when Flint‘s rider handed that kid a bell ribbon, Thunder cracker trotted up to her. Sniffing their bell, and letting them tie it in his tail.

Now here he was, waiting patiently for when they'd be ran down the mountain again, Flint and that kid would be waiting to see if the bell stuck, the bell he'd protected for months, and then he'd be their pony.
