Flower Sniff
Motita was a simple minded teddy, enjoying the sunshine and wilderness. On such a beautiful day, a group of people arrived, looking upon her and the rest of her herd fondly. She wasn't quite sure what their intentions were, but she calmly remained in sun watching as they approached. The group had arrived with a simple goal in mind, the chance to bond with one of the stunning teddycobs. Winter was coming, and anyone attempting to claim a teddy to purchase had to do so now, tying a little bell to the mane of the cob.
A young girl by the name of Freya joined the group onlooking the herd. She had always dreamed of forming a bond with a teddy, and did not want her moment to slip away. She spotted the ticked black mare from a distance and immediately started towards her. Motita blinked slowly, watching as this strange creature approached. She was not necessarily scared but not exactly outgoing either. As Freya got closer, she could see all the intricate details of the teddy. Her pretty fluff blowing in the soft breeze. She reached out towards the mare, attempting to grab her mane. In comical timing, Motita saw a butterfly, turning sharply to run after it. The butterfly flew in circles, landing on various flowers causing the unusual pair to travel quite a distance through the field. Freya stopped to catch her breath, she could see many other people successfully tying their jinglebells, but she was not even close. Motita, not really hesitant towards Freya, was just too enamored by her own investigations to bother with the girl. Freya sat down for a moment, sighing.
"I guess this year really isn't my time." She looked down at the little red ribbon and jingle bell, shaking it around a little bit. Aside from her failure to claim a teddy, the day was pretty good to her. She had packed a little lunch, and decided to just enjoy the nature, just like the teddy cob. Pulling out a swiss and ham sandwich, she watched the mare run in circles, captivated by all of life's different wonders. How strange, this cob was just so interested in the strangest things. She finished off her snacks and laid down looking at the sun. Not the best place for a nap, but with the sweet sound of Motita's nickering and the warm sunlight, she couldn't help it.
Freya napped for what felt like years, waking to a ticklish feeling on her nose. She opened her eyes and was face to face with the teddy, only a small butterfly separated them. The teddy was now interested in Freya, sniffing her feet and lunch bag. Freya laughed and pet the teddy softly. Gently, she tied her ribbon to Motita's soft mane, making a tight hold but being careful to keep it comfortable. Motita jumped around, jingling the tiny bells.
"You sure do love little things like this," Freya laughed. "I hope we can continue to discover together."
